The problem

Your users follow a precise training plan, but no nutrition plan follows it. Most sports apps stop at in-session fueling, or leave athletes to guess what to eat for the rest of the day.

The result: underfuelled sessions, poor recovery and churn. That is often when athletes go looking for another app, or for a general-purpose AI that makes up the numbers.

What the Ograal Engine does

Ograal calculates the athlete’s full daily nutrition, day by day and meal by meal, based on their training sessions. The engine’s rules were defined by Ingrid Gallerini, a sports dietitian-nutritionist. They are the rules she applies every day with her own clients.

  • Daily meals in grams: every meal and every snack is a list of weighed foods, matched to the day’s training load.
  • Post-session recalculation: the actual energy expenditure of each session adjusts the remaining meals of the day.
  • Race days: the day before and race day both adapt to the start time (morning, midday or afternoon).
  • Carb loading: from 3 days to 1 day before the race, depending on the event, built into the meals, with extra maltodextrin when needed.
  • Before a long session: meals designed for a proper refuel the day before.
  • Maintenance, muscle gain or weight loss: the athlete’s goal is tracked.
  • Physical activity at work: counted as energy expenditure.
  • Fueling: gels, bars and drinks calculated with the products the athlete actually has.
  • Options: vegetarian mode, weekly rotation of protein sources, English and French versions.
  • Adapted to your coaching rules: want different targets from the ones Ingrid applies? No problem. Ograal is deterministic, so we adapt our formulas to yours.

The engine is deterministic: it applies fixed rules. The same inputs always produce the same numbers. AI is only used to suggest a dish name for the calculated foods.

How it fits into your app

Your app keeps its interface and its users. It sends session types and energy expenditure to Ograal, and the nutrition comes back to match the training schedule perfectly.

  1. Your app sends the athlete’s profile and their planned or completed sessions.
  2. Ograal returns the day’s needs, the meal plan in grams and the fueling plan for the session or race.
  3. You display it in your interface, with your branding.

Three functions are all it takes: daily needs, meal plan, fueling. Your users have nothing to install and never enter calories. They log sessions, just as they already do in your app.
